Q:  What are Wireless Data Services?
A:  Wireless Data Services is a set of integrated wireless and web-based tools that let you:
Transact business from your Nextel Internet-ready phone
Send and receive email
Exchange and manage phone lists between your phone and your PC
Access specific information from the Internet
Exchange text messages

A:  Wireless Data Services are available throughout the Nextel National Network in the continental U.S.

Q:  How am I charged for Wireless Data Services?
A:  You'll have unlimited access to the web using your phone's microbrowser when you select a Nextel Rate Plan. You'll pay a flat monthly fee for web access that doesn't use your monthly rate plan minutes. However, some services will use your rate plan minutes. If you go over and above your plan, you will be charged at your per-minute overage rate.

Q:  How can I sign up for Wireless Data Services?
A:  You can select Wireless Data Services when you buy a phone online. You can also call 1-800-NEXTEL6 or contact your local sales representative to add Wireless Data Services.

Q:  How do I start the microbrowser to access Wireless Data Services on my Internet-ready, SIM-based phone?
A:  From the idle screen, press the Menu key to access the main menu.
Use your four-way Navigation key to scroll down to Net and press the option key under SELECT. The first time you access Net, you will be asked to enable security by pressing the option key under Yes. Your Wireless Data Services home page will then be displayed.
You can return to the idle screen at any time by pressing the home key twice. There is no need to disconnect from Wireless Data Services.

Q:  How do I start the microbrowser to access Wireless Data Services on my plus phone?
A:  Press the Mode button until "Net Ready" appears on the screen.
Press the option key under OK. The first time you use Net mode you will be asked to enable security by pressing the option key under "Yes." Your home page will then be displayed.
You can return to another mode, i.e. Phone, Private or Group mode by pressing the Mode key at anytime. (There is no need to disconnect from Wireless Data Services.)

Q:  How do I view Internet information?
A:  Information from selected web sites that fit your business and personal needs can be found under the Web Sites link on your Wireless Data Services home page. Scroll to your desired selection and press the option key under "OK." Carefully follow the on-screen prompts.
To explore other sites, from your Wireless Data Services home page, go to "Enter Site" Enter the Internet address of the site you would like to see. To view ".com" sites, you do not need to enter "http" or "www". However, to access other types or sites, like ".org" or ".net," you must enter the entire address, i.e. www.nasa.org.
NOTE: Enter Site is only available with the Nextel Data Plus Pack and Nextel Data Ultimate Pack.

Q:  What is a bookmark?
A:  A bookmark is a shortcut to a web page that you plan to visit often. By creating bookmarks, you have an easy way to return to sites that you like without having to remember the web address.

Q:  Is there a limit to the number of sites I can bookmark?
A:  Your phone can store up to 100 bookmarks.

Q:  How do I add a bookmark?
A:  To add a bookmark:
  1. Go to the site you want to bookmark
  2. Press and hold the Menu key on your keypad until the "Browser Menu" appears
  3. Scroll to "Mark Site" and select"OK"
  4. The default bookmark name will be displayed. Select "Save"

Q:  If I add Wireless Data Services, how long will it take to be added to my account?
A:  Wireless Data Services will be added to your account within 48 hours (or two business days). However, adding Text Messaging may take up to four business days to activate.

A:  The correct promotional pricing will be shown on your monthly bill.

Q:  Can I use Nextel Text Messaging service on my phone when I travel abroad?
A:  You may receive, but not send, text messages on your phone when you travel internationally. However, to do so, you must change your messaging preference prior to leaving the U.S.

Q:  How does Text Messaging work?
A:  Nextel Text Messaging allows you to send, receive and reply to text messages using your Nextel Internet-ready phone. Messages can be sent three different ways: from your Nextel Internet-ready phone, from www.sprint.com or from an email application.

Q:  What is the messaging address for my Nextel phone?
A:  Messages can be sent to a Nextel plus phone from any email application. Address the email message to:
[10-digit Nextel phone number]@messaging.nextel.com
For example: 7035551212@messaging.nextel.com

Q:  How do I register for MSN Hotmail?
A:  To get a free MSN Hotmail account, visit Hotmail Registration and complete and submit the registration form. To access Hotmail on your phone, you must subscribe to the Nextel Data Plus Pack or Nextel Data Ultimate Pack.

Q:  How do I maneuver through the home page?
A:  Use your scroll keys to maneuver through the home page.
For Internet-ready, SIM-based Phones:
Press up or down on the 4-Way Navigation Key.
For Plus-series Phones:
Use the Scroll Keys or Volume Control/List Buttons (on the side of the phone).
Scroll through the options to highlight the service you want to access and press the option key o under OK. (You can also press the number to the left of your desired selection to automatically jump to that service.)
Press the back key (*) at any time to return to the previous screen.
To return to your home page, press the home key.
