Q:  Can I customize the Sprint Nextel Hybrid Phone with ring tones and wallpaper?
A: 
Yes, you can add ring tones and wallpaper to the Sprint Nextel Hybrid Phone. Log in to your MySprint account and click Digital Media.
You also can purchase content from your handset. To access the download menus:
  1. Press OK > My Content.
  2. Select the type of file you wish to download (Games, Ringers, Screen Savers, or Applications).
  3. Select Get New and press OK.
To access the download menus from the Web browser:
  1. From the home page, select Downloads.
  2. Navigate to find what you are looking for.
Any ring tones or wallpaper that you had on any prior phones can not be transferred to the Sprint Nextel Hybrid Phone.

Q:  Can I add java applications or games to the Sprint Nextel Hybrid phone?
A: 
Yes, you can purchase compatible java applications for the Sprint Nextel Hybrid phones. You will need to download the application to your handset. Login to your MySprint account and click Digital Media.
Please note, any java applications or games housed on another device can not be transferred to the Sprint Nextel hybrid phone at this time.

Q:  Are there differences between Nextel Text Messaging and hybrid text messaging?
A: 
Yes, there are some differences between Nextel Two-Way Text Messaging and SMS Text Messaging on the Sprint Nextel Hybrid Phone. For most customers, you will experience the fast connection and easy-to-use interface.
For some business customers who were heavy users of the advanced features of the Nextel Two-Way Text Messaging, the hybrid phone does not provide the following features:
Sprint Nextel Hybrid Phone SMS Text Messaging has a limit of 160 characters per message.
The Sprint Nextel Hybrid Phone SMS Text Messaging does not support embedded replies.
The Sprint Nextel Hybrid Phone SMS Text Messaging does not support read receipts.
The Sprint Nextel Hybrid Phone SMS Text Application does not support HTTP interface or SNPP Protocol.

Q:  What is my text messaging email address?
A:  When using a Sprint Nextel Hybrid Phone, your phone's email address is yourphonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com. If your phone number was 555-555-5555, your email address would be 5555555555@messaging.sprintpcs.com. If you are a current Nextel SMS text messaging user, this is a new address.

Q:  How will I know when my phone is ready for data services?
A:  Your user name (for example, bsmith001@sprint.com) will be displayed when you access Menu > Settings > Phone Info > MyPhoneNumbers.

Q:  How do I sign into my data applications for the first time?
A:  You are automatically signed in to access data services when you turn on your phone.

Q:  How do I know when my phone is connected to data services?
A:  Your phone automatically connects when data service is used or an incoming message arrives. Your phone also will display the data connection icon (two arrows) when a data connection is established.

Q:  Can I make calls and use data services at the same time?
A:  You cannot use voice and data services simultaneously.

Q:  When is my data connection active?
A:  Your connection is active when data is being transferred. When active, the data connection icon (two arrows) flashes on your phone's display screen.

Q:  When is my data connection dormant?
A:  If no data is received for 10 seconds, the connection goes dormant. If no data is received for an extended period of time, the data connection will terminate.

Q:  Can I sign out of data services?
A: 
You can sign out of data services without turning off your phone; however, you will not be able to browse the Web or use other data services. While signed out, you can still place or receive phone calls, check voicemail, and use other voice services. To sign out, go to Settings > PCS Vision > PCS Vision > Disable in your phone's menu.
You may sign into your phone's data services again at any time.
